80,000 volt electric suitcase

Drop the price, and make it into a bedside gunsafe, and you might have something interesting there.

What kind of journalism is this?

I try to pull up some news on the president's meeting in Mexico, and what do I get? A fashion commentary on two presidents and a prime minister...

Travellers warned to avoid central Paris

Sounds like they are trying to have another revolution; in the videos I keep expecting to see people wearing the bonnet rouge and assembling guillotines...

A viewpoint on the illegal immigrant question

Nate has a good commentary on the illegal immigrant protests : also has an interesting idea to help addressing the problem.

Now that the snow from the weekend has melted, it is starting to look more like springtime around here.

Nice to see someone is using some intelligence and initiative.

Brady Bunch report card for Utah

Good to see that we in Utah are doing something right; personally I would see a grade of C or higher as a failure.

Sounds like the Feds were asleep at the wheel.

Can someone explain the reasoning here?

I'm not sure I understand; growing food is a waste of water? Granted, there is some waste when irrigating, and there are some ways of conserving with small gardens, such as drip irrigation, but how is a larger farm, or one in a poor country that cannot afford fancy plumbing, expected to water crops? I'd like to get some of those engineers and theoreticians out on a farm or ranch for a few weeks...

They tell me it is now officially spring

Seems like all it did was snow sporadically all weekend. Supposedly spring has sprung, or something to that effect. I guess that means it will not snow as much, with occasional rain instead. This weather has been giving me cabin fever; I can't wait for some decent weather so I can get out and do some plinking and hiking.

A little background on where I live...

West Valley City is one of several cities located in Salt Lake Valley; it is a bit to the west of Salt Lake City. Many people think of all of the cities in Salt Lake Valley as Salt Lake City, but they each have their own mayor and city governments.

Where to start?

New at this, so bear with me.
