I've got a really nice Lee-enfield carbine that isn't in the Irish constabulary configuration.

Their all a joy to shoot. Well except for the No5 mk1. Those damn Jungle Carbines are horrible. They look nice, but they just aren't designed for the power of the round.

Have fun.Nylarthotephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14015695031209858516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24325419.post-72866450716655499882009-03-30T15:39:00.000-07:002009-03-30T15:39:00.000-07:00I cant believe you still have SNOW on the ground.I cant believe you still have SNOW on the ground.meleah rebeccahhttp://mommamiameaculpa.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24325419.post-15500637933126320092009-03-29T16:03:00.000-07:002009-03-29T16:03:00.000-07:00If I would have known you had the smle I'd have vi...If I would have known you had the smle I'd have visited earlier!Thudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18320037763190473684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24325419.post-84198626092869145392009-03-29T10:31:00.000-07:002009-03-29T10:31:00.000-07:00MauserMedic: I haven't shot it in years; I inherit...MauserMedic: I haven't shot it in years; I inherited it from my dad along with his other firearms, and really need to do some shooting with them.BobGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405172215849046373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24325419.post-18630827963514188352009-03-28T19:41:00.000-07:002009-03-28T19:41:00.000-07:00Doing any shooting with that one?Doing any shooting with that one?MauserMedichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09657229228172032650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24325419.post-49880136413914730172009-03-27T08:30:00.000-07:002009-03-27T08:30:00.000-07:00Thanks for the info, friends. Thanks for the info, friends.BobGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405172215849046373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24325419.post-15940147472560490662009-03-26T14:29:00.000-07:002009-03-26T14:29:00.000-07:00Yes! Everytime a rifle went in or out of the inventory they would test it again and mark it with the proof mark and initials of the guy in charge.

You also have commercial proof marks from the Birmingham Proof House. After a military weapon is sold out of British Govt. inventory, it has to go through commercial proof before being sold to the public

On the side where it says SMLE MKIII 1916 mine is exactly the same except it says 1915.

If you have the brass medallion in the side of the stock that shows the regimental unit the rifle was issued to.nonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07550167783969561280noreply@blogger.com
