Can someone explain the reasoning here?
I'm not sure I understand; growing food is a waste of water? Granted, there is some waste when irrigating, and there are some ways of conserving with small gardens, such as drip irrigation, but how is a larger farm, or one in a poor country that cannot afford fancy plumbing, expected to water crops? I'd like to get some of those engineers and theoreticians out on a farm or ranch for a few weeks...
They tell me it is now officially spring
Seems like all it did was snow sporadically all weekend. Supposedly spring has sprung, or something to that effect. I guess that means it will not snow as much, with occasional rain instead. This weather has been giving me cabin fever; I can't wait for some decent weather so I can get out and do some plinking and hiking.

West Valley City is one of several cities located in Salt Lake Valley; it is a bit to the west of Salt Lake City. Many people think of all of the cities in Salt Lake Valley as Salt Lake City, but they each have their own mayor and city governments.
