The past couple of months haven't been all that good in this neck of the woods. My wife and I spent a good part of the first part of it helping take care of her mother, who started to have medical problems. These slowly got worse until Christmas morning, when she went into hypoglycemic shock (she was diabetic), having a blood sugar of 33. She was revived and taken to the hospital, but we lost her on Dec 27, and buried her on Jan 31. She was 86, and will be greatly missed by a lot of family, friends, and neighbors.
I'm not a religious person, but this song seemed appropriate:
I hope to get back later when we get more time; my wife is her executor, so things could get a little busy.
To everyone out there, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, whether Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, or whatever belief helps to ease and uplift your spirit.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother in law. There is never a good time to lose a loved one, but when it happens around the holidays, it seems that much harder. I know it won't be easy getting things settled in the coming months. I hope all goes as well as can be expected and that 2013 brings easier times your way.
Sorry for your loss, Bob (& family).
Prayers headin' west...
It is appropriate, Bob and thoughts are with you.
Thank you; my wife and I appreciate the good will from all of you.
I'm so sorry for you loss. For sure she's in a good hands right now. I'm sue it's hard to lose someone especially on holidays. But we know everything happens for a reason. Maybe it will take time for your family to recover, let's just pray 'coz there's nothing more powerful than a prayer.
Terribly sorry about the loss Bob. I'm just taking on caring for my aged mother, a hard task but duty calls.
That deleted one was me, deleted a line by accident. This is a belated New Years greeting and one that I wish was happier for you and your wife. I appreciate your prayers for my brother, you will have mine as well.
Thud: I know the feeling; I helped take care of an uncle for a couple of years.
Brigid: thank you; I know you have a lot going on with your dad and your brother, and we appreciate you dropping by with good wishes.
