A tag

Roberta X and Mike W tagged me with this:
1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you want.
3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4. Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5. Leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

1. That was fun, so now what?
2. A picture of me out rockhounding, one of my many, many hobbies.

3. Up above at first of post.
4. , Hammer, Becky, Labrat, and Elliot
5. Done

A few people liked the picture of the mountains to the west of me. This morning I snapped a photo of the ones to the east; they are farther away, and a lot higher. The photo was not taken from my porch, as the view is blocked from there. Instead, I took it from the parking lot where I was doing the grocery shopping this morning. It is up in those mountains that the ski resorts are located.

How many of these are familiar?

"Nice Work If You Can Get It" by Thelonious Monk
"Play With Fire" by The Rolling Stones
"Floating" by The Moody Blues
"Telstar" by The Tornados
"Born to Fly" by Sara Evans
"Mr. Tambourine Man" by The Byrds
"Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" by The Beatles
"Mean Woman Blues" by Roy Orbison
"Pictures of Matchstickmen" by Status Quo
"Big River" by Johnny Cash/Kris Kristofferson/Waylon Jennings/Willie Nelson

Oooh, a challenge.... gotta wait until the brain cells are at peak. You never know when some publisher might be reading. :)

K, those mountains look so familiar. I'm on the other side of 'em. Just climb over that right peak... cross over the river, past the cave and over the field and there I am! =)

I hope you found some good rocks or minerals.
Rock houndin' can actually be pretty hard work.

The area I was in was part of a large reef with a lot of horn coral; I was looking for some good specimens at the time of the photograph. Found a lot of small brachiopods, but nothing special.

I miss that from growing up West, rock hounding, especially agate hunting.

Great photos Bob.

Cool photos Bob. I haven't been out west since I was a kid. I miss it. I could definitely live out west in CO / UT etc. if not for the snow.

I'd love to see more of the States - so far, all I've seen is LA and New York, and whatever you can see from the aeroplane between the two. I'd love to drive through all the states, getting a taste of everything from mountains to deserts to prairies to beach. Someday!

I was born into a rockhounding family but here in So. Cal. there are very few places left to look :(

But I never miss the "Gem and Mineral Show" when it comes to town :)

I've tried the 6-WordMeme and just can't seem to get 'er done. I like looking at coral formations from the fishy perspective while immersed in Hawaiian water. :-)
