A few months ago, Allison Kraus (bluegrass singer and fiddle player) got together with Robert Plant and worked on an album. They also did a concert on TV. This is one of my favorites they did on the concert, but sadly it wasn't recorded on the album. For those who like Kraus, Plant, and blues, this is their version of the Led Zeppelin hit Black Dog.

For some reason this cracks me up.

The presidential campaigns get goofier all the time; it's a three-ring circus, and all three rings are full of clowns.

Finally getting out of town for a bit; my wife and I will be leaving around noon Friday to go to Twin Falls, Idaho for a visit to a friend. We should be back sometime Saturday night. Been a few years since I've been up that way.

Anyone know where the post title came from? Hint: it was the first hit song of one of the artists below.
Who needs new music with old familiar ones like these?
"Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top
"Africa" by Toto
"Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones
"Chicago" by Benny Goodman
"Bloody Mary Morning" by Willie Nelson
"Squeeze Box" by The Who
"The Story in Your Eyes" by The Moody Blues
"Career of Evil" by Blue Öyster Cult
"No More Words" by Berlin
"The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers

This is the 2nd video I've seen now of Robert Plant and Alison Kraus. They're an odd pairing, but somethig about it works!
No idea where the title comes from! And I'm too lazy to google it tonight. ;-)
The arrangements were made by T-Bone Burnett, the big guy behind them with the guitar. He is the one that got them together for the album and produced it.
"Just Dropped In..." was a Kenny Rogers hit, with the First Edition, if I remember right. "Brown Sugar" an "Bloody Mary Morning" have always been favorites of mine -- that last one just flat rocks on the Willie & Family Live set.
Love that poster. A gay wizard with an AK..Don't mess with him!
Glad to see you post and hope you have a good trip.
Cracked me up too Bob.
that photo of Gandalf is awesome!
Have a good time at Twin Falls... beautiful area. I am sure you will be taking plenty of photos. It'll be good for you both to get out for a bit!
Most new music is crap anyway. Give me some STP, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Hendrix and I'm happy.
The wizard picture makes me laugh too. I am tagging you with a meme I had a little time while waiting for my last two assignments to be graded and I need to get ink for my printer to finish the study guides so I came up with a meme I hope you like it.
Love The Wizard Comic.
And I dont know how Robert Plant and Alison Kraus. make it work!
