That didn't take long

Looks like the Brady Bunch has already started their media blitz. This is from their website (excuse me, but I refuse to link to them).

"Details are still forthcoming about what motivated the shooter in this case to act, and how he was able to arm himself. It is well known, however, how easy it is for an individual to get powerful weapons in our country.

"Eight years ago this week, the young people in Littleton, Colorado suffered a horrible attack at Columbine High School, and almost exactly six months ago, five young people were killed at an Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania. Since these killings, we've done nothing as a country to end gun violence in our schools and communities. If anything, we've made it easier to access powerful weapons."

Looks like they didn't want to miss the chance to start their drivel about "powerful weapons" and "gun violence". Interesting how grown adults can attribute supernatural powers to inanimate objects. Nobody seems to worry about psychopaths, only their weapons. It is almost as if they are sitting around waiting for tragedies to occur, with templates ready to start cranking out their propaganda. The truth of the matter is that if a couple of people could have fought back, this might have been nipped in the early stages.

I expected to find a Brady Campaign beg for money in my email tonight but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm not surprised that they are already calling for more restrictions though.

Looks to me like we in this country atre gonna have two choices..either we become an armed population that is willing to fight back against the killers running loose or we will have to become a police state where the police will have the authority to stop and search every person for weapons.

I prefer the freedom to arm myself and fight back. I figure just one armed student might have prevented a lot of deaths..even if the armed student fired and missed it might have sent the gunman running.

That gun didn't load and fire it'self.

Just remind me, though...weren't guns illegal near schools BEFORE the Littleton massacre? (Not that I've ever forgot about that, since the school's on the way to the range,,,)
