Psycho Killer Raccoons Terrorize Olympia

Believe it or not, that is the actual headline. Makes you think along the lines of "Bambi Meets Dawn of the Dead".
Anyone who has been around raccoons knows what obnoxious vermin they can be. This is just another reason why they are not good neighbors.

After reading the article regading these terrorizing little bastards, I wonder why the residents just don't beat in their furry little heads with a shovel.

I don’t believe raccoons are native to Utah. But we sure seem to have a number of them. You find them as road kill all over the palce

Raccoons were brought in as pets, and have now become a major nuisance.

Aguillera 22 rimfire ammo, (the low powered, heavy bulleted stuff) seems like the perfect solution to me.

My dad used to have the things in his yard all the time. Since he lived out in the sticks, most of the time he just hit them with either a 22 or a shotgun.

I generally have a problem with people shooting "nuisance animals". I'm sure we seem like a bit of a nuisance to them, and I think there are plenty of ways to prevent the situation so the animal doesn't have to be shot. I'm not opposed to hunting, but the idea of shooting an animal because it's where you don't want it to be bothers me. That being said...

If I heard one of my pets screaming, I probably wouldn't identify what was making them scream until it was already dead. Pets are family, and you do whatever is necessary to protect family. Shoot it, stab it, or wring it's little neck... but you do not let it kill your pets!

We're not far from Olympia. I sure hope those varmits say outta my neighborhood. ( Although I did find 3 babies up in my plum tree, and I pulled the tail of one of them just to see what it would do. When the mother saw me, she ran away.)
